ROASTED CRISPY YELLOW LENTILS / MOONG DAL

An easy and healthy snack that is perfect for tea time.


INGREDIENTS

2 cups yellow lentils or moong dal

1 tablespoon oil

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon red chili powder

A pinch turmeric powder





INSTRUCTIONS


Rinse yellow lentils or moong dal thoroughly and soak for about 4 to 5 hours. Drain water completely from the soaked dal using a fine mesh strainer. Spread them on a kitchen towel and pat them dry to remove all the moisture content.


Add salt, oil, turmeric powder to these and mix well in mixing bowl.


Pre-heat the oven to 205 degrees C and line a baking tray with a parchment paper.




Spread the mixture in a single layer evenly. Bake for about 30 minutes, mixing it every 5 minute intervals, until the yellow lentils or moong dal is crunchy.


Finally add red chili powder and mix well.


Allow the moong dal to cool and serve or store in an airtight container.
